The deadline has passed for submissions to the Journal of Consumer
Research's special issue on topics that apply consumer research to enhance
the welfare of individuals and society.
The Journal's goal is to publish the Special Issue in the June/September
2008 time frame. To meet that deadline, manuscripts that have received an
invitation to revise should submit their revisions by September 1, 2007.
Revisions must continue to be driven and framed by a readily recognizable consumer
problem or issue which holds the prospect of transforming human welfare. The
research must seek to develop new insights that could be communicated to
consumers, their guardians or policy makers, and some of the insights must
be capable of being readily applied in everyday life. Communication of
findings will occur in many possible formats: through JCR press releases,
summaries posted in the 'For Consumers' section of the ACR website, and
through other promotional efforts.
