Instructions For Authors of Accepted Manuscripts

Please read each section carefully, look at the samples, and follow the instructions (very important).

JCR and its publisher, the University of Chicago Press, have a "publish when ready" program where articles will appear online prior to publication of the paper copy (approximately two to three months after receipt of complete final materials from authors).

Please get your final materials in as soon as possible to take advantage of this.

We hope that if you currently do not have an individual subscription to JCR, you and your co-authors will subscribe (it's only $65 per year for association members). JCR operates on subscription income, so your subscription shows support for the journal that publishes your papers (we don't charge a submission fee to cover costs). You may request an electronic-only subscription if you do not wish to receive a paper copy.

You can get access to JCR articles in many ways, but an individual subscription shows your personal support.
