Permissions Instructions

Most manuscripts do not require special permissions for images such as advertisements. Because we are a nonprofit academic journal and our articles are used for educational purposes only, we are allowed to use most copyrighted materials in our articles. There are exceptions, however.

The exceptions are when authors are critical in some way of a particular brand or company and when authors might have some financial gain from an article (extremely rare).

When in doubt, please check with the managing editor to save time. That is, please do not send forms to companies requesting permissions unless you are absolutely certain this is necessary.
